In our class we enjoy getting stuck in to both group and independent challenges, debating right from wrong not only in a classroom context, but in the world around us. We have a love of outdoor learning, using cross curricular links to breathe life into our curriculum, for example we have planted seeds for our veggie patch as a link to our learning about WWII and the dig for victory campaign. Our literacy is inspired by quality texts, which then weaves through into other elements of our curricular learning, for example art and DT. Out maths is focused on problem solving and reasoning, solving challenges both independently and in groups, where perseverance and cooperation are important life skills that are learnt. The children in Y6 leave with confidence and knowledge, ready for the challenges that secondary school will bring.
